From the desk of Pastor John Johnston:

Do you honor God with your Love?
As a pastor I have met a lot of people in my time. The hardest thing to do is to move to a different place and to make new friends. As most of you know, there is always some that you will connect with and there are others that may not like you at all.
The great thing about coming to a new place, no matter whether it is church or a neighborhood, is you will make everlasting friends. For Tina and me, we have had at least one or two friends, from each place, that became our prayer warriors. They go to battle every day for us, because they know that being a pastor and wife we can and most likely will be in spiritual warfare every day.
There is one person that stands out in my mind today. Her name is Verna Williams. She has passed away but her memory still lives on every day as I never had to ask if she was praying for me and she knew we were praying for her. She really honored God with her life.
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us-for it is written:
Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree. Galatians 3:13
God put Christ forward as a propitiation by His blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over former sin. Romans 3:25
In this is love, not that we have loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:10
This week, as you talk to your neighbors, think about what they think of you. Are you a person that honors God with your actions? You see, it does not matter whether they like you or not, but how you treat them and show them Christ through you.
When Jesus walked this earth, He showed honor towards the Heavenly Father by living the example of our Creator. It did not matter whether the people liked Him or not, His grace was sufficient for all…
