From the desk of Pastor John Johnston:

Just a quick note to all of you; I have been married for almost 29 years to my wife Tina. We are so glad to now be serving in this area at Twin Lakes Baptist and look forward to worshiping with you and invite you to come be a part of our Worship Experience. We have two boys, Jeremy (23) and Brandon (17).

As I sat and thought of what to write about in this first blog my thoughts turned to our (Tina and my self’s) journey that has brought us to this place. Psalm 118:8 says “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man” (NKJV). To be in the center of Gods Will for our lives we turn to the center of the Bible. Tina and I have always put God first in our lives and I give Him praise for 28+ years with Tina as well as sharing a ministry with her.

I won’t tell you that it has all been peachy and sweet; Ministry as well as life has its ups and downs; as a matter of fact sometimes it has been more like guns and roses. (She would like to shoot me and I buy roses to smooth it over)J. You see it is a journey and the one thing we need to learn is that there is always good and bad on the journey. It is the same for relationships, marriage, work, church and life. You know, there was this great philosopher J that quoted his momma saying “Life is like a box of chocolates… you never know what you’re going to get!” Well Forrest, you where right; life has a way of changing every day. We never know what is going to happen and sometimes things really catch us off guard. Fortunately there is a great God out there and he wants us to join Him in the abundance of His Grace. He is always ready to listen to our hearts, hold us and be there with us through it all.

Jesus Said in Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29) Take My yoke upon you and lean on Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30) For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Come and join us at Lakeside and hear God's word and let us help you find your way.
