March Madness…

I don’t know about you but I love this time of year… The flowers are starting to bloom, the trees are budding out, my allergies are in full warp mode, and you can wear shorts one day and it is snowing the next day… You know that true Arkansas weather! No one else in the country has weather the way we do. Well maybe a few have the same. I am not sure if anyone else can attest to the fact that we now have 3 tornado seasons a year, fall, winter and spring.

I don’t know about you but March Madness, for me, has nothing to do with basketball. All the plans for the summer are coming to a head in one month. Trying to plan 3-4 events for the summer is beginning to take a lot of time.

Isn’t it funny how life can consume so much of your time. A lot of it we put upon ourselves. Sometimes we just have to say “no” to some of the things we are asked to do, otherwise we will have to take “sleep” out of our schedules because there is no other time to do it.

Seriously though, I really do love this time of the year, and the reason is because it is the time of year that we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. About this time Jesus was going through the worst time of His human life. He was being persecuted, scourged, made fun of, cursed and ultimately led to the cross. Luke 22:39 through 23:49

Yes it is true that Christ died on that cross. Luke 23:44-46 No one will ever dispute that He did die. Most people will tell you that this is where it ended. He was just a prophet of God or just a man who knew the scriptures well enough to fool a lot of people into following a false messiah. Yes you will find that a lot of religions will tell you that it all ended there on that cross. But, this my friend, is where the crossroads are. At this point you have to choose to go right or left.

The left road is the road that takes you down the path of least resistance. It is a road that will lead to destruction, a road that man has made and satan has ordained. A road that says there is no Son of Man, that He never existed and that there are other ways to heaven besides Christ.  This road is also the road that says you don’t need Christ, that you don’t need church or fellowship. It tells you that you are ok on your own. This is a lonely road and satan is waiting to take you down it. How far you may ask??? All the way to Hell itself…

On the other hand you can turn to the right. It is a harder road to navigate. It requires commitment. It will demand you to put your faith in a guide that can get you down the road to your new destination. Without this guide you will most likely get lost as sometimes you will not be able to see the road at all. Your guide will come at no material cost to you as He has already paid the toll fees. He did this because He loves you that much. In fact He loves you so much that He is willing to die for you to make sure you get to your new home. Satan does not like your new Guide, you see your new Guide is everything that satan is not. Are you aware of whom this Guide is? It is Jesus…

Jesus did arise from the grave. Luke 24:1-7      You see, He died on that cross but He arose on the third day so that you and I don’t have to die. We can have everlasting life. John 3:16-18 God loves you so much that He would give His only Son. The bloodshed that Jesus experienced was for you and me. This season is all about Jesus rising from the grave and defeating satan once and for all…

Is He your Savior? If not would you like to hear more about Him? Give me a call…

Where will you be on Easter Morning?????
