As I was trying to make a
decision about today’s blog, the phone rang and I had a very good conversation
with one of our church members. After talking to him I sat here and thought
about all the decisions we have to make every day. Most of them are only
concerned with what to wear or what to eat or what I am going to watch today on
TV…
There is one thing that
stands out the most. We as humans tend to bypass the major decisions and stick
with the easy ones. The hard ones tend to sometimes upset us or depress us. But
we still have to deal with them, and when we do sometimes we need help in
deciding on what to do…
So how do you deal with the
tough decisions that have to be made? Sometimes we tend to labor over the
decisions and take a long time to make your mind up. Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you
who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matt. 11-28) You see, Jesus was concerned about what you
and I have to go through. He wants us to come to Him for all of the decisions
we will have to make, every day.
As we get older we tend to
get wiser and tend to make better decisions but we still make hasty decisions
and ultimately make the wrong ones. One thing is for sure, if we make the decision
to make Christ the King and Lord of our lives we can live in the security of
knowing He is there to help us and that we have a place waiting for us, no
matter what happens in or to this world…
So let me ask you, do you know what will become of you
when the Lord decides it is time for Christ to return?
