Moses: “Because I drew him out of the water”

This week we will be looking at Moses on Wednesday night. I will not give away all that we will be talking about cuz you needs to be here on Wednesday night… J

Moses was a very interesting person. To be saved from sure death he was put in a basket and set free to float on the Nile River. This would seem that he was put into a very dangerous situation that could claim his life to save his life. Sound ridiculous?  Well to any normal person it would, but to a devoted mother that had the faith in God that could move mountains it wasn’t.  Exodus 2:1-10

Moses grew up in Pharaoh’s house. He was to become a prince and rule over Egypt, but when he found out his roots, the time was right for God to make His move.

As we live our lives we can find ourselves in a lot of precarious situations. Sometimes we may be in a life threatening situation. Some of us may live a normal life with nothing ever bad really happening. The most important thing in our lives is what we do with them when God calls.

In Exodus chapter 3 we find Moses in Median tending sheep when God calls him. This was after he almost perished in the dessert.  It was not all easy getting where he was at this point. It was hard work and he needed to be broken down from his lofty stature; to be humbled to the point that God could use him in a very mighty way.

What does it take for us to come to the point that we will humbly serve God. You see, it goes beyond coming to church and attending Sunday school. Even beyond extra Bible studies. It starts with our bending of knee to humble ourselves before Him. Letting Him do His will and letting God shape us and mold us no matter how much it hurts. Moses, I am sure, was very nervous. He didn’t speak well. “Lord you have the wrong person” you might say, or “I am no good at teaching!”  In Exodus 3:12 it says “I will surely be with you…” That was God’s promise to Moses and us.

The thing we need to always remember is that God will never bring you to anything that He won’t lead you thru. He is always with us and is waiting for us to call upon Him…

Oh, the rest of the story about Moses and some outrageous acts of faith… you will need to come Wednesday night to hear the rest… (If you can’t be here or live out of state please e-mail me at johnt2005@att.net and I will send you more information…
