'Tis the Season:

Well it is hard to think that it is already the end of the year. We have seen a lot of good and bad throughout the year and it would seem that Satan is trying to have the final word in this 2012 year. Lots of things have caused disappointment and now we have seen a great injustice in the slaying of young children. (I read this morning that they will be putting the first two children to rest today).

A Legacy:

As far back as I can remember my dad went out of his way to decorate the house for Christmas. I remember him telling me as we stood on the roof in the cold, “Anything worth doing needs to be done right”. All I could think about was how high that second story roof looked off of the ground. Back then it looked about a 180 feet to the ground but, in reality, it was only about 20 feet. Dad would say, "Hang those lights along the edge of the roof and make sure they are straight”.  Funny though, ever since I have been buying houses I tend to look for ones with an easy pitched roof  and one story… go figure… J

Feeling Down?

As far back as I can remember my family has always had Dachshunds. I am not sure why we have always had this breed of dog. I remember times when I wished we had a Labrador or a German Shepherd or some sort of large dog, but never got one…  Oh there were times when we did own a Heinz 57 dog but it did not seem to last too long. And there was that one Pick-a-poo my sister had, his name was Peety or maybe it was Pete. Well nothing we had seemed to fit except the wiener dogs.

Tis the Season…

Well thanksgiving has come and gone. It is hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner. When I was young I remember getting very excited over this time of year. The big thing was to go to Sears and get the new Christmas catalog. That poor book would get literally worn out by us kids looking through it time and time again dreaming of what we would like for Christmas.

Simply true or false:

I was reading my e-mail this morning and my brother Jim sent this to me. It is a true testament to what we think and who we are… Take the test and see how you rate.

Thanks Jim keep them coming…

The Simple Life:

Thinking back when I was young I can remember all the simple things in life we enjoyed. For me growing up was filled with decisions of, what game I was going to play today or whether I was going to a friend’s house or were they coming to my house. Life in my mind seemed simple.

A Legacy:

Many years ago, a friend of mine once said, “He who dies with the most toys wins!” When this was said there were several of us standing around his new truck and most all had a good laugh from his comment while we all drooled over this new 4 x 4. My friend’s life was full of gathering as much stuff, mostly cars and motorcycles, as he could afford.

Today our lives can be the same way. Sometimes we get caught up in the materialistic world. We tend to spend our entire lives looking for that special something that will fill that void in our hearts… a new car or a new house or maybe if we get a pool….
